Diaverum nominated to receive prestigious Golden Laurel award

The Golden Laurel is awarded by Super Biznes (Super Business) to individuals, companies and organisations whose actions have had a particular impact on the Polish economy. Diaverum is nominated in the “Innovation” category.

Diaverum is the second largest provider of nephrological services in Poland. It offers patients with renal disease - prophylaxis, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and prepares patients for transplantation. With its network of 24 dialysis clinics in Poland, Diaverum has a strong influence on improving the quality of medical services. The nomination is based on the launch of the Edicational Programme d.ACADEMY – a virtual college for patients, doctors, nurses and corporate managers.

"We are honored that our work has been noticed. Diaverum has for many years been making sure that patients with kidney disease have the highest quality of care, which positively influences their well-being and allows them to return to normal life", Ryszard Zając, Managing Director of Diaverum Poland.

Patients with chronic renal failure have many concerns and many questions. To help them understand their illness, Diaverum has launched a new Patient Education Program. The d.ACADEMY initiative allows patients to learn more about renal replacement therapy. The key to making wise decisions and living an active lifestyle is to gain knowledge about the disease. d.ACADEMY is also available to medical staff at Diaverum clinics as a tool for deepening and improving professional knowledge.

"At Diaverum, we promote different forms of education. The d.ACADEMY educational platform is available online via computer, tablet or smartphone. This virtual university provides state-of-the-art knowledge available anywhere and at any time. All our educational efforts seek to improve the quality of life for patients with kidney disease", Ryszard Zając.

This is the second nomination received by Diaverum in the last two editions of "Golden Laurels of Super Business". In 2016, Diaverum was nominated in the "Science and Business" category for collaborative abilities, which is the basis of the success of innovative businesses.

The award gala will take place on October 27th in Warsaw. The event is organised by the honorary patronage of: Ministry of Development, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, The Polish Bank Association, Polish Chamber of Commerce, Business Centre Club, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Polish Economic Association.
