Kościerzyna is close to Gdánsk in the north of Poland. Gdańsk (also known under its German name of Danzig), is one of the old, beautiful European cities, right on the Baltic coast. It is the capital of Pomerania. Although it was destroyed in World War II, it has been perfectly rebuilt with a rich and magnificent architecture.
